How to install a PS1 emulator on your Xbox Series X|S
A few things before we get started: Firstly, by doing this you are not violating your Xbox's warranty as you are running the emulator in Dev Mode, a space created by Microsoft for developers to work. Second, due to the gray legality of emulators, we cannot link directly to emulators or ROM downloads, and third, the games you emulate may be full of bugs or may not run at all because they don't run on native hardware: no way: your mileage may vary. With all that out of the way, let's get started.
The registration process
The first step to installing an emulator on your Xbox is to become an Xbox developer. It's a lot easier than you think.
- Turn on your Xbox Series X|S and navigate toMicrosoft-ShopdoXbox-Dashboard.
- To search forXbox developer mode.
- Download theXbox developer mode app.
- Once downloaded, open the app and you'll be taken to a developer program welcome screen.
- Go forward until you reach thethird tabthat has ashortcutit is aActivation code.
- Once here, switch to your computer and go to the provided link.
- This link will take you toMicrosoft-Partnerseite🇧🇷 Log in to yourMicrosoft-KontoName.
- Scroll down todeveloper programsand clickstart🇧🇷 This will take you to a registration page.
- cliqueRecordand fill in the registration data.
- You have to choose if you want oneindividual accounto einscompany account🇧🇷 Select the individual account andpay the feeactivatedeveloper mode.
- After logging in, re-enter the provided link into Xbox and you will be taken to yourGerenciar consoles Xbox OneBodies.
- Press the button on the far right of the screen, selectActivation codeand enter the activation code displayed on your Xbox.
- Activation screen on Xbox goes black if it takes too long. In that case, just update your Xbox and website and enter the new code.
- Back on your Xbox, you will receive a confirmation that your Xbox is now enabled for development.

At this point, Retroarch is up and running, but it's worth making a few tweaks to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Play PS1 games on your Xbox Series X|S
Now that Xbox Development Mode is enabled and Retroarch is fully installed, you need to find some PS1 games. This includes downloading PlayStation Bio and finding PlayStation ROMs. Once you find them, you can run the PlayStation games.
- You need a PS1 BIOS. You can create your own or find one online. After downloading it, rename it toscph5501.bin🇧🇷 This is how you can read North American PS1 games. If you're curious, scph5500 is for Japanese games and scph5502 is the European version.

A backdoor to many possibilities
The Xbox Series X|S is a surprisingly excellent emulator. The Xbox Series S, in particular, is a great entry point if you're interested in emulation on a budget. While it's nice to revisit your childhood classics, keep in mind that you'll definitely experience a number of glitches, ranging from minor to groundbreaking, as they don't run on native hardware. When you return to normal view, you will be asked if you want to delete downloaded games and apps. Make sure you uncheck the box or you'll have to go through this whole process again.
