Configuration overview
Black Ops in the Cold Warincludes a wealth of customization options to keep it comfortable in your hand.
Below is an overview of the settings you'll find in each menu, starting with the driver settings and followed by other menus shared by all platforms.
Rules
This menu is divided into three subsections by input device: Controller, Gameplay, and Advanced.
In the first subsection, you can adjust the horizontal and vertical appearance sensitivity on a 14-point scale, including values in half and quarter increments (e.g. 0.25 and 11.5). These options affect how fast or slow the operator is looking along the X and Y axes, respectively. High sensitivity allows for faster turns and can be ideal for those who can control precision through micro-adjustments. Low sensitivity can be great for those who find it easier to capture accurate photos at slower speeds. There are also two other sliders that adjust the speed of the view while zooming in with low and high magnification scopes.
Below these configurations is a key layout drop-down menu that offers almost a dozen pre-assigned key configurations to choose from. You can also rotate the side and trigger buttons, flip images vertically, enable controller vibration, enable trigger effects for touch triggers (DualSense), and adjust the intensity of all vibration and trigger effects.
The gameplay subsection covers Aim Down Sight Aim Assist for Campaign and Zombies,as this option is always disabled in multiplayer. Then comes the Slowdown & Strafing Aim Assist, which changes movement and sensitivity when your crosshairs are on an enemy target. Following are options for stealth behavior in the air (automatic or manual) and on the ground (on press or second press), the ability to set the target, aim and constantly aim to hold or toggle and change the control mode of the Assault vehicle on any target. based on (it moves in the direction you're facing) or alternately, which allows you to turn left and right with the movement stick.
In addition to Stick Layout, which offers several predefined layouts, the Advanced section of this menu contains the following settings:
Minimum and entry limit:This determines how far the lever must be pressed in order to register the minimum inputs. Increasing the minimum inputs can help combat club drift, while decreasing them can help register subtle movements more clearly.
Controller-Sounds:Allows enabling and disabling controller sounds.
Auto advance: Enabling this allows you to quickly press the jogstick forward twice to continuously move forward. They stop every time you pull the stick back.
Autostart: When activated, pressing forward causes your character to run immediately instead of requiring an additional button press. Recommended for players who play fast.
running behavior:Toggle between two options for how the sprint is activated: Hold, which is press and hold the jogstick to run (release to stop), or Toggle, which simply presses the jogstick to run and the stick off Your position forward withdraws.
Sprint cancel recharge:When activated, Sprint stops the charging cycle. Disabling this allows it to run during reloads. Canceling the reload animation by sprinting can be useful in situations where an enemy spawns while you're still reloading.
Automatic Parachute Deployment (Multiplayer):In parachute game modes like Fireteam, enabling this setting will automatically deploy your parachute whenever your wielder is near a surface. Disabling is recommended for those experienced enough to manually deploy their parachute on levels below the auto deploy distance, but carries the risk of in-game death.
Team Stories:Choose between two options on how to use the gear: hold the button to remove the gear and release to throw it (hold), or press the button once to lock the gear remove it, then press it again to throw it (toggle).
Interaction/Reload Behavior (Multiplayer/Zombies):Determines how the Interact/Reload button (square) works. You can tap to reload (hold to interact), tap to interact (hold to reload), or prioritize reload and interact - great for those who don't want to hold down that button as often. In cases where both options are available, the game will "prioritize" the chosen action so that either "Reload" or "Interact" is accessible by touch and the other is accessible by holding down the button.
Armor Behavior (Multiplayer): Determines whether holding down the command to equip the fireteam with armor will run in sequence (apply one) or continue the animation until you have full armor or run out of armor plates (apply all).
Chart
This menu covers all options related to the in-game images.
The first is the safe area boundaries, which need to be adjusted in order for the entire game to fit the screen. Next comes the accessibility option for colorblind modes, which includes the ability to customize them based on your condition.
Then there's the field of view slider - pushing it all the way to 120 lets you see more of your peripheral vision, but may result in graphics issues and a lower frame rate depending on your display device or platform. Going to the lowest limit will make your vision more focused, making objects on the screen appear larger and reducing peripheral vision.
There's also the ability to adjust the brightness, change the split-screen orientation, enable ray tracing, which allows for more realistic shadows, and change the motion blur.
Audio-
In addition to graphics and control adjustments,Black Ops in the Cold Waroffers a variety of audio options.
In the Game Sound section, you'll find the option to mute all game sounds outside of voice chat, sliders for master volume, music, sound effects, dialogue, and cinematics, and a toggle for game marker sound effects. This section also includes audio presets, which are:
· Treyarch Mix: Developer recommended sound mix set by default.
· Flat: Adds no frequency distortion to the audio mix.
Headphones: Recommended for headphone users.
· Vocal Clarity: Recommended for those who have trouble hearing dialogue even when the sliders are adjusted.
· Quiet: Smooths out all noise while maintaining range. Recommended for late-night gaming without headphones when staying inconspicuous outside of games is important.
· Bass Boost: Boosts the low frequencies to make the game sound fuller.
· Super Bass Boost: Significantly boosts low frequencies.
· High Boost: Boosts high frequencies by reducing low frequencies, making game sound brighter and eliminating certain noises, such as noise. B. steps, can be recorded more easily.
The voice chat category includes microphone audio as well as game and party chat audio. Here you can adjust voice chat volume, open microphone sensitivity and microphone volume. You can also limit conversations to your group instead of all game chat by switching the voice and text channel and turning off voice chat.
interface
In addition to subtitles that can be adjusted in size and opacity, you can show or hide various HUD elements for the best viewing and gaming experience.
In particular, it can hide hit markers, including damage-based hit markers that show different markers depending on the type of damage dealt, crosshairs, allied and enemy health bars, horizontal compass, and player names that can also be hidden for zombies, you can also use floating damage numbers (show how much damage is dealt to a zombie) and disable zombie names and health bars.
Advanced settings here include the ability to toggle in-game warning icons like disconnect and extrapolate on and off, mouse tooltips, and input device icons that indicate whether a player in a player list is using a keyboard and mouse or a controller.
Mouse keyboard
If you prefer to use the keyboard and mouse, this menu gives you the option to change the input device and change the settings associated with that input device.
For a breakdown of these settings, see the PC version of this guide.
account and network
Last but not least, this menu includes your Activision account, network information, and content filters.
In the Activision Account section above, you can change your Activision display name and email address, and enable cloud storage settings so you can keep all settings consistent across your Activision account. This is also where you can turn crossplay on or off.
After that, the ability to manage game installations through file management. Go here to manage future package installs and save disk space.

Finally, the content filters allow you to turn graphic content and profanity on and off in text chat. If you don't want to see the friend request and party invite notifications in the top-right corner of your screen during gameplay, you can turn them off here. You can also randomize your names and the names of people in the lobby using two separate options.
