reasons to avoid
- ...but the colors are off Overall construction in economy quality Touchpad feels thin hard keyboard
Asus is no stranger to the preferred 14-inch form factor, so it's no surprise that the Asus Vivobook S 14 Flip OLED is a joy to use. Sure, this 2-in-1 laptop has a flexible, attractive design and a solid all-AMD setup with promising processing power, but the limelight shines brightest in its price tag - around $679 / £649.
This is a budget laptop through and through, but it's about as stylish as it gets. In its most basic configuration, with an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB SSD, it's a hard-to-beat 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop for $680. . However, it's the more affordable configurations that we strongly recommend. If you find the price is over $1,000, look elsewhere on this listing.
3. Asus ROG Flow X13
Bester Ryzen 2-in-1-Gaming Laptop
specifications
UPC:AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS
GPU:Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650/RTX 3080
TO KNOCK:32 GB
Store:2 TB
Show:4K, 60 Hz
Dimensions:15.7x11.6x0.7~0.9 inches
Weight:2.9 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Versatile and attractive design Great game and overall performance Excellent battery life XG Mobile is a compact and portable eGPU
reasons to avoid
- Buttons are a little small. Screen could be brighter and more vivid Caro
The Asus ROG Flow X13 really is a one-of-a-kind beast, offering impressive performance in a laptop that weighs less than 3 pounds, thanks to its new Ryzen 5000 series processor combined with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU. But that's not the best trick, add the compact XG Mobile eGPU and you've turned the ROG Flow X13 into a beast of a gaming laptop with the power of an Nvidia RTX 3080.
As if what's going on inside wasn't impressive enough, the ROG Flow X13's exterior design is beautiful with the Asus Gravity Wave design covering the magnesium alloy chassis. Open the lid and you might unexpectedly discover that it's a 2-in-1 device with 360-degree flexibility, allowing it to be transformed into tent, stand or tablet mode.
Okay, everything looks great, what's the problem? The $2,999 price alone, or $3,299 for the version we tested, is an incredibly expensive option. However, if you fall into the niche that sees value in a laptop, this laptop delivers that kind of performance, there's simply nothing else like it and you owe it to yourself to check it out.

4. Asus Zephyrus G15
The best high-end Ryzen gaming laptop

reasons to buy
+ Killer performance from AMD and Nvidia 1440p-Painel, 165 Hz Incredible battery life clicking on the keyboard Elegant moonlight white design
reasons to avoid
- The screen could be more vivid It gets excessively hot
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 impressed our tester with its combination of performance and exceptional battery life. One of the few downsides for gamers was that it sported an Nvidia 2060 Max-Q GPU. You'll understand our tester's excitement when Asus announced this new, larger model at CES 2021, moved on to the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, and unveiled an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.
Gamers looking to try Ryzen are no longer limited to budget gaming laptops, this is a high-end gaming laptop with our review model priced at $2,499. Despite all that extra power, it still offers an excellent battery life of over eight hours and has a number of interesting improvements like the clickable keyboard and powerful speakers. While the display isn't quite as vibrant as we'd like, it's sharper and smoother than the G14 and jumps to a 165Hz refresh rate. Not only is this laptop one of the best AMD Ryzen laptops available right now, but it's also one of theThe best gaming laptopsjThe best VR ready laptops.
If you can find solid value in the 2021 G15, it's still an exceptional laptop, but at full price it's well worth considering.Asus Zephyrus G15 (2022).

Bester Ryzen-Business-Laptop

Dimensions:12.3 x 8.8 x 0.7 inches
Weight:2.8 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Exceptional performance The best keyboard in the category extensive ports
Competitive price
+durable construction
reasons to avoid
- No Thunderbolt 3 compatibility Below average battery life thick screen edges
Lenovo and its ThinkPad lineup are mainstays of the business laptop world, and the ThinkPad X13 (AMD) powered by Ryzen is a strong contender in that space. The Ryzen 5 Pro 4650 U processor we tested delivered fantastic performance, although battery life could definitely be better at just under 8 hours on our battery test.
ExtensiveportoOptions include twoUSB 3.2Type A, two USB-C, one HDMI 2.0, one Ethernet expansion port, one microSD, one headphone/microphone and one Kensingtonlock slot. And then, as you'd expect from a ThinkPad, the keyboard is phenomenal and the laptop offers military-grade durability. The screen's anti-reflective coating eliminates glare, but you'll definitely feel its focus on productivity as neither the color space nor brightness levels will impress, but it's enough to easily view your spreadsheets and documents in any environment.

6. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
The best 16-inch AMD Ryzen gaming laptop
specifications
UPC:Ryzen 7 5800H Processor

TO KNOCK:16 gigabytes
Store:512 GB SSD
Show:16 inches, 2560 x 1600 pixels, up to 165 Hz
Dimensions:14 x 10.4 x 1.1 inches
Weight:5.4 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Bright 16" QHD display with 165Hz Awesome keyboard with number pad Solid battery life Wide range of doors
reasons to avoid
- soft and heavy chassis Four-zone RGB only it is getting hot
We're looking at some impressive AMD gaming laptops with Nvidia's 30-series GPUs, and while the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro doesn't have flashy aesthetics, it makes up for it with a gorgeous 16-inch QHD display, an excellent keyboard and trackpad, and plenty of it makes up for the doors. And despite so much power, the Legion 5 Pro also offers respectable battery life.
Interestingly, the Legion gets a yellow card warning for some high temperatures under high loads and is a strong platform compared to some of its thinner competitors. If you're looking for something lighter to travel with, consider the 4.2-pound weightAsus ROG Zephyrus G15. Otherwise, the Legion 5 Pro is a great choice for gamers who want the best performance for the price.

7. Asus ROG Strix Cicatriz 17 (2021)
The Best 17-inch AMD Ryzen Gaming Laptop
specifications
UPC:AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX
GPU:NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
TO KNOCK:32 GB
Store:Two 1TB m.2 PCI SSDs in RAID 0 configuration
Show:17 inches 1920x1080, 360Hz
Dimensions:15.5 x 11.1 x 0.9-1.1 inches
Weight:6.1 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Bright 360Hz display awesome graphics Fast AMD Processor excellent mechanical keyboard
reasons to avoid
- no webcam short battery life
The Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 has all the bells and whistles that the best gaming laptops look for, from the Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU and AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU to the 360Hz refresh rate display and a wonderful mechanical keyboard.
All that performance comes at a price, as the configuration we tested costs $3,000. The lack of a webcam is forgivable - most laptop webcams are terrible anyway - but a brighter, more vibrant display would be nice. Battery life could be improved too, although given its intended purpose you'll probably still want to plug it into an outlet to maximize performance.
If you're looking for a gaming laptop that never fails to impress, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 won't disappoint.
8. Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 (15 Pulgadas, AMD)
The best premium Ryzen laptop
specifications
UPC:Ryzen 7 4980U processor
GPU:AMD Radeon
TO KNOCK:16 gigabytes
Store:512 GB
Show:15 inches, 2256 x 1504 pixels
Dimensions:13.4 x 9.6 x 0.6 inches
Weight:3.4 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Stylish and sturdy chassis fast performance Battery with long autonomy 15 inch big screen Comfortable keyboard and touchpad great speakers
reasons to avoid
- scarce in ports No separate graphics option Frames could be thinner No fingerprint sensor
The Surface Laptop 4 addresses the biggest flaws we found in the Surface Laptop 3, delivering faster performance and longer battery life. With the right CPU, the Surface Laptop 4 suddenly became a laptop with few downsides. The sleek, rugged design is sleeker than ever, the 15-inch panel is bright and vibrant, and the keyboard and trackpad are close to best-in-class.
A few unfortunate downsides remain, most notably the lack of ports. It almost doesn't feel right for a 15-inch laptop with a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port, a headphone jack, and then Surface Connect's proprietary input. And while the laptop's overall design looks good, the relatively large bezels have to go.
This AMD version of the Surface Laptop 4 is a huge step up from its predecessor, and a laptop we'd wholeheartedly recommend, but Microsoft is just a few minor tweaks away from really standing out from the competition.

9. Acer Swift 3 (2020, AMD)
The best budget Ryzen laptop
specifications
UPC:AMD Ryzen 7 4700U
GPU:AMD Radeon Graphics
TO KNOCK:8 GB
Store:512 GB SSD
Show:14 Zoll, 1080p
Dimensions:12.7 x 8.6 x 0.6 inches
Weight:2.65 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Herkulesleistung amazing multitasking clicking on the keyboard fingerprint scanner amazing interior for the price.
reasons to avoid
- Screen-Outfit
The Acer Swift 3 is a pretty practical laptop and would do well to pass Intel's model, but the AMD 4000 series version delivers absolutely stunning performance starting at less than $700. that we saw in our battery life test is even more impressive.
And while its understated design doesn't stand out, the aluminum and magnesium look is minimalist and sleek, helping the Swift 3 pack a 0.6-inch, 2.65-pound fit. If you're looking for the downside, the only real gripe we have with the Swift 3 is its 14-inch 1080p display. The Swift 3 managed a terrible 62% sRGB color gamut reproduction and 251 nits brightness in our tests. If a bright, vibrant display is a high priority for you, check out our top pick, the HP Envy x360 13.

8. Acer Nitro 5 (AMD, 2020)
Best AMD Ryzen Gaming Laptop Under $1,000
specifications
UPC:AMD Ryzen 5-4600H
GPU:nvidia geforce gtx 1650
TO KNOCK:8 GB
Store:256 GB
Show:15.6 inches, 1920x1080, 60Hz
Dimensions:14.3 x 10 x 0.9 inches
Weight:5.3 pounds
reasons to buy
+ Battery with long autonomy Strong CPU performance comfortable keyboard ridiculously accessible
reasons to avoid
- mediocre graphics
tela chata
-tom enlameado
While there are obviously some compromises - the lack of a high refresh rate display and a top-end GPU - it just doesn't get much better than the $669 Acer Nitro 5's value proposition.
While it came in slightly below the budget gaming laptop average in several of our graphics-based tests, as you can see in our full review, it came pretty close, and at a price well below the competition. CPU performance is something else, beating class averages in overall performance and video transcoding.
Battery life is another highlight of the Nitro 5 with 11 hours and 9 minutes in our test, beating the category average of 6 hours and 38 minutes. If you want to spend up to $900Dell G5 15SE (2020)You get better GPU performance and a superior display, but at this price, check out the aforementioned Asus Zephyrus G14 or TUF Gaming A15 for a much better overall package for just over $1,000.

TO KNOCK:16 gigabytes
Store:SSD the 1 TB
Show:13,3 Zoll, 1080p, OLED
Dimensions:12 x 8 x 0.6 inches

reasons to buy
+ excellent performance Excelente display OLED Battery with long autonomy Stylish ultra-portable design full speakers
reasons to avoid
- narrow keyboard self adhesive touch panel
While there are quite a few gaming laptops with AMD processors in this range, ultraportable laptops with the AMD Ryzen 5000 series are not as common, and luckily, the Asus ZenBook 13 UM325S is one of the best. The best ultraportable laptopsaccessible. The OLED screen is beautiful and the powerful speakers complete the multimedia experience.
As you'd expect from Ryzen 4000 and now Ryzen 5000 laptops, the ZenBook 13 UM325S delivers excellent performance with long battery life. Some users might find the incredibly compact design a little cramped when it comes to the keyboard and trackpad, but that's obviously just a boon for others who appreciate the convenient folding size.

Everything AMD everything! AMD has been on a roll lately, delighting the Laptop Mag team with the performance and endurance of its Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. The love affair continues with the Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition. For anywhere from $1,549 to $1,699, you get a system that includes not just an AMD processor, but an overclocked AMD GPU, a first for laptops. You also get a lot of nifty tech focused on balancing performance and power efficiency, with buttery smooth graphics and 10+ hours of battery life. And the system works hand in hand with some of the biggest names in the industry. Did you win every round? No, but for the hundreds of dollars you save, it's pretty close.
The G15 isn't perfect: the screen could be brighter and more vibrant, and the SSD definitely should be faster. And would it kill you, Asus, trying to put a webcam back in the picture?
