recently this year, google announceda new type of ad calledResponsive Display Ads (RDA), which will become the new default ad type for the Google Display Network, replacing the previous "responsive ads".

Was it Responsive Display Ads (RDA)?

Con Googlenew responsive display ads (RDA), advertisers can upload up to 15 images, 5 headlines, 5 descriptions, and 5 logos – a significant improvement over Google's legacy "responsive ads" where advertisers can only upload up to 2 headlines, 1 image, 1 logo and 1 description.

Google then uses machine learning to test different combinations of your uploaded assets and show you the ads that perform best based on predictions of your past ad performance. As the term suggests, RDAs also automatically adjust their size, appearance, and shape to fit any available ad space.

Benefits of Responsive Display Ads (RDA)

RDAs are part of Google's initiative to combine advertiser creativity with the power of Google's machine learning to "deliver relevant and valuable ads across the web at scale." In addition to providing the benefit of displaying mobile-responsive ads, RDAs also provide advertisers with the following benefits:

  • Optimize ads for better performance- Google uses historical data from the past performance of your ads to determine the best ads to run on the Google Display Network. The asset reporting feature also gives you better insight into the performance of each of your assets, helping you make more informed decisions when a title, image, logo, or description needs to be adjusted.
  • to save time- Machine learning allows Google to automatically generate the best mix of resources to create the ideal ad for your campaign, freeing you to focus on other important marketing strategies.
  • extend the scope- With more assets available for display ads, you can reach a broader audience and use it to target different people in your audience.
  • more personalized advertising- ThroughAdding feeds to your RDA, Google shows your audience more personalized content for dynamic remarketing. Dynamic remarketing uses information from your feed to create ads, showing you the most relevant ad content and personalized feed placeholders for different types of audiences who have previously visited your site.
How to Create Responsive Display Ads (RDA)

Creating RDA is easy and intuitive. Here is a little guide to get started with Google RDA:

  1. Sign in to yourGoogle ads account.
  2. Select on the left side of the navigation panelDisplay Network campaigns → Ads and extensions.
  3. Click the round blue plus button and selectResponsive display.
  4. Select an ad group.
  5. Upload your photos. You can upload up to 15 marketing images and 5 logos.
  6. Enter your ad information: short headline, long headline, description, business name, and landing page URL. Please note that for RDA you can add up to 5 titles and 5 descriptions.
  7. View your ads, then selectsave to computer.

Your ad is submitted to Google for approval. Before you can review your ad's performance, you must wait at least a week after your ad is approved and published.

Tips for Effectively Implementing Responsive Display Ads (RDAs)

While Google's machine learning feature takes care of optimizing your ads, that doesn't take away from you, the marketer, the ability to create a successful ad campaign for your brand. Here are some best practices to keep in mind when implementing an effective RDA:

1. Create a relevant and consistent message

Your brand message is the foundation of your advertising campaign. Delivering the right message to the right person at the right time can greatly increase clicks and conversions. It's also important to include the unique value proposition of your product/service in your message: how does this product make life easier for your customers?

Finally, it's crucial that your ad message aligns with your landing page message. Consistency is key. Nothing turns a potential customer away faster than a misleading or misleading ad.

2. Create attractive, high-quality images

Your marketing images are one of the most important elements of your advertising campaign. Create beautiful, eye-catching images for your ad that capture the attention of your audience and reflect your brand message. While it can be much cheaper to use stock photos, custom photos are more likely to be noticed and remembered by the public. Creating your own images also reflects you as a company.

Google has also emphasized the importance of ad images that don't have a lot of text; Ad text on the image should not occupy more than 20% of the area. Even if they are responsive, it is important to consider the ideal size for Google ads. For more information, seeGoogle Image Size Guidelines Here.

3. Test, measure and rotate screens

Machine learning is just a tool to help you decide which combination of advertising elements works best. Since improving ad campaigns is essentially a trial and error process, it's a good idea to test multiple versions of your brand messaging and creative to see which one works best for your marketing goals.

It's also important to rotate display ads every few weeks to avoid ad fatigue among your audience. Keep in mind that even the best performing ads can become less effective over time. Replace poorly performing ads with new and better ones, and come up with new ad ideas regularly.

Google is constantly updating its ad serving services to help businesses like yours deliver the best message to your audience. With the new responsive display ads, the user experience is vastly improved and marketing is simplified.
